NOTE: The rules listed below are a summary of the technical rules to give participants a better understanding of the competition. The official rules and participation agreement are included under each city and are required to be read before any team registers.
►Theme & Surprise Element Announcement. At 12:00PM sharp on the date of the Film Race (the dates vary by city), each participating Team will receive an e-mail at the e-mail address they provided in their online team registration form. There will also be a live “Theme Announcement” at a location specified on filmracing.com under each city, but it is not mandatory that a representative from each team attend. At the live Theme Announcement, a brief question and answer session will start at 11:30AM and the Theme and Surprise Element will be announced at the stroke of noon (12:00PM).

Examples of past Themes are "Revenge", "Bad Advice" and "Spare Change". The Surprise Element can be a prop (ex. toothbrush) which must be incorporated into the film, a line of dialogue which must be spoken by a character in the film (ex. “Get out of my face!”) or an action which must be performed in the film (ex. walking up stairs).
