This past weekend, over 350 teams of
filmmakers from around the world were challenged to create an original
short film in just 24 hours based on a theme, prop, and action
assignment. This year's theme: Identity Theft.
Assigned props ranged from noodles to shaving cream and the assigned
actions ranged from stretching to looking through a peephole. Come
check out the premiere of the Houston films and vote for your favorites!

The
judges for Houston include:
Denise
Boucher is a Producer/Filmmaker .
This will be her 2nd consecutive year Judging 24 Hr Film Race. Her Team
won 1st Place in 2009, for "LOST IN TRANSITION" as well as won Audience
Favorite. She also Won 1st Place at Gulf Coast Film Festival 2009 for
Best Short Film for "UNFORTUNATE.NET". Pearls of Illusion was a Finalist
in 2010 at both the 48 Hr Film Race and Gulf Coast Film Festival. She
Co-Produced KEY OF D" with Judy Garlow whose Film Featured at River Oaks
Theater with 3 other Noted Filmmakers. Other Films noted are: " CONNECT"
, Love Lobadomy Music Video with Spring Film Meetup Group which both Won
Awards for Audience Favorites and a Bronze Remi for "Love Lobadomy" at
World Fest 2010. She is presently working on a Documentary to help the
Medical Field and has several Projects she is working on.
Michael
Darling loves punk rock music,
pistachios and Godzilla movies. When not listening, eating or watching
one of these things, he make movies. Co-creator of Sweet Baby Jesus
Films, Michael produced the 2010 WorldFest "Vision Grand Remi" winner
and 2010 Gulf Coast Film and Video "Best of Festival", film "Eternal
Peace". In 2008, Sweet Baby Jesus won "Best Film" with the entry "Rushin'",
in the Houston 48 Hour Film Project. Some of Michael's other films
include, "Forever and After" (2010), "The Final Flight of Sherman Brown"
(2010), "Melon Girl" (2010), "Betman" (2009), and "Love Struck" (2009).
Michael is currently in pre-production on 2 films, one of them a Stephen
King Dollar baby.
Eric
Harrison is editor of
MovieHouston.com. He has covered the film industry and written movie
reviews professionally since 1998. Internationally recognized for
his expertise, Eric has been interviewed about movies and Hollywood by
television stations in France and Japan and in the United States by CNN
and ABC. At the Los Angeles Times, where he created a beat on film
creativity, Eric visited film sets, sat in on sound editing sessions and
interviewed film directors, actors, editors, visual effects artists,
producers and screenwriters about the art of making movies. He wrote
feature stories on film, reviews, essays and profiles. Eric also has
been chief film critic for his hometown paper, the Houston Chronicle.
Since 2008, his film writing has appeared online, primarily on
MovieHouston.com, a site he founded in 2009.
Chuck
Norfolk: Producer,
Director, Writer and founder of "Lucky Chucky Productions", Chuck
Norfolk has been a screenwriter for over 15 years. He took on producing
and directing as a way to get his stories out into the light of day. He
has directed seven shorts to date (5 in 2010). Chuck recently wrapped
producer and 1st assistant director duties on the feature film "Jacob"
for Odyssee Pictures, his latest short "Garage Band: The Mini-Musical"
is currently shooting, and a feature film is coming in the near future.
Regina
Scruggs is a film journalist and
critic, based in Houston. She is the former host of Music From The
Movies on KUHF-FM. She is a founding member of the Houston Film Critics
Society and a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. She has
over 30 years' experience in radio.
Pete
Vonder Haar is a pop culture
blogger and film reviewer at the Houston Press. He was a contributing
editor at Film Threat for six years, also serving as the site's lead
movie critic. He has covered the Sundance Film Festival, South by
Southwest, and CineVegas. His entertainment articles have also appeared
in the magazine NewType-USA. His crowning professional achievement to
date is the title of "Crankiest Critic" bestowed upon him in 2007 by the
Los Angeles Times.
