This past weekend, over 350 teams of filmmakers from around the world were challenged to create an original short film in just 24 hours based on a theme, prop, and action assignment.  This year's theme:  Identity Theft.  Assigned props ranged from noodles to shaving cream and the assigned actions ranged from stretching to looking through a peephole.  Come check out the premiere of the Denver films and vote for your favorites!  See the screening information below for more details.

The Denver judges include:

 

Jeff Wallace:  It all started in a small 100 watt radio station outside of Longmont Colorado...........No but really Jeff Wallace started his entertainment career as an on-air personality right here in Longmont.  He moved to So-Cal in the mid 80's  by 1987 he was working in television on "Rags to Riches".  Then on to feature films "Pump Up the Volume" for New Line Cinema along with "Suburban Commando", "Critters 3&4" and "It's Pat" for Disney.  As a Construction Coordinator and as an Art Director he finds joy in telling the story visually and he ..."gets to blow shit up too" like in "Swordfish".  When asked about "The 24hr Film Race" he simply said, ".............Pressure makes Diamonds". Elaine Mariner is the director of Colorado Creative Industries (CCI), a division of the state Office of Economic Development. CCI promotes, supports and expands Colorado’s creative sector to drive economic growth, increase jobs, and enhance our quality of life. CCI provides financial and professional assistance to creative entrepreneurs, arts organizations, schools and municipal agencies, and markets Colorado’s creative economy nationally and internationally.

 

Patty Kingsbaker has worked in the industry for over twenty five years. She began her career as a casting associate with Colorado Casting. In the late eighties she made the move to Phoenix were she was a Producer for Grad Films. In 1991 Patty returned to Denver and began her career as a Talent Agent. Over the next ten years she built one of the strongest talent divisions in Colorado. In 2001 Patty made the move to Los Angeles where she worked as a Talent Producer for FOX Television. In 2005 Patty returned to Denver and opened Radical Artists Agency with long time Denver talent agent Kathey True. Radical Artists Agency currently represents the top echelon of Denver actors for work in film, television, voice-over, corporate industrials and commercials.

 

Isaac J. Ramos is the Director of the recent award winning Short film "Play Her Song". As the creative director if Racine Street Productions, he is well aware of the challenges set in front of each of the Denver Film Racing Teams and looks forward to watching their efforts on the big screen. 

 

 

Monica Augustine is the owner of Wildflower School of Voice in Boulder where she thrives on supporting young singers to find their inner confidence and fully express their true voice. Monica has performed extensively as a singer-songwriter, also playing guitar and piano. She has performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, as well as for the Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids, and C.U. Buffaloes. Her first two CDs were "Wildflower" and "Beyond Innocence." Her latest CD, "Bright New World," was released October 1, 2009.

 

Gary Barnes is the Global Premier Business and Sales Coach (also known as “the Traction Coach); an author, and an international speaker. He is the founder of Maxlife & Gary Barnes International. Gary believes anyone can lead an empowered life, no matter what their circumstances are. He has built three successful businesses from the ground up. To do this, he developed principles and tools that helped him increase his business 1800% (actually 3000%+, but who would believe that!) over a four-year period. He also understands dealing with adversity-he has fought a lifethreatening illness and won. He believes that your worst day is the day you meet the man or woman you could have been.  It's a choice.

 

Darla Rae started her career acting at the age of eight. Growing up in the Los Angeles suburb of Azusa, it was only natural that her love of the arts would flourish. She started acting in stage productions and gradually made the transition to writing, directing, and producing. Rae made the move from stage to film when she was 18. She has written, directed, and produced numerous stage, film, video and commercial productions Darla Rae is an award winning Producer,Director and CEO of Film It Productions www.film-itproductions.com. Her first full-length feature film, “The Goal” won several awards at various International Film Festivals, and has screened internationally and received worldwide distribution.Rae’s first documentary “Dandy Kids” also won awards and screened before the United States Congress and was distributed by Film It Productions.
